Erik Cantu had been eating a hamburger with a friend inside his car in a San Antonio parking lot, when former officer James Brennand opened his door and ordered him out.

A former rookie cop in San Antonio was arrested and charged on Tuesday after hein his car in a McDonald's parking lot earlier this month.

The Oct. 2 shooting of Erik Cantu was caught on Brennand's body camera, which showed how the officer approached the teen's car believing it to be a vehicle that had evaded him the previous day. Cantu's 17-year-old female passenger was not injured, but he was taken to a local hospital where he remains in critical condition.
