9 hospitalized in 3-vehicle crash involving 2 unrestrained toddlers, Harris County officials said
On Scene TVNine people, including multiple children as young as 2 years old, had been hospitalized following a three-vehicle crash Saturday night in west Houston, according to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office.
In total, five children and six adults were involved in the crash, meaning two of the 11 people did not require hospitalization for their injuries.A vehicle containing two adults and a 2- and 3-year-old had been traveling north on Fry Road around 11:30 p.m. when its driver ran a red light, hitting another car at the intersection of Morton Road.
An 8-year-old and a 30-year-old were flown to the hospital in an air ambulance following the crash. The 8-year-old boy was believed to have a fractured femur, Jenkins said. Jenkins said the investigation was preliminary and ongoing, but as of the findings Saturday night, none of the drivers were believed to have been under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
An accident reconstruction team needed to investigate before determining whether any criminal charges would be filed, Jenkins said.“I believe we have a lot of people in this crash that walked away pretty well off for the type of crash we have,” Jenkins said.
