It was another violent weekend throughout Jefferson County, with six people killed between Saturday and Monday.
East Precinct officers were dispatched at 10:45 p.m. Saturday, May 28, 2023 to the apartments at 420 78th Street South. Once at the location, they found the victim – an adult male – unresponsive on the ground.
Once at the location, they found Morrow, of Birmingham, unresponsive on the ground. Birmingham Fire and Rescue Service pronounced him dead on the scene at 10:58 p.m. Coroner’s officials said Castillo-Gonzales, of Bessemer, had been shot to death. It wasn’t immediately clear when he was killed, but he was pronounced dead at 4:59 p.m.in the 800 of Thompson Street in Gardendale.
