In the proposed project, there would also be a fifth lane in each direction between the interchange of I-865 and Michigan Road and the interchange of Michigan Road and U.S. 31. This fifth lane would be an auxiliary lane specifically for entering and exiting traffic. This same configuration is proposed for the I-465 segment south of the I-865 interchange.
