Four takeaways from the Uvalde school shooting video
Here are some of the new details that can be gleaned from the video.The first part of the video, from a security camera at a funeral parlor, shows the gunman crashing his truck into a ditch about 400 feet west of Robb Elementary school. The crash is seen at a distance.
A woman, who isn’t named in the video, can be heard saying she can’t see the gunman and that he’s shooting at the schoolAccording to KVUE and the Statesman, the audio also includes the sounds of shots being fired at the building from the outside. Footage from an overhead camera shows the gunman entering the building and turning down the hallway where the massacre occurs.
Over the course of the next hour, police can be seen congregating in the hallway under the camera. An officer trains a rifle at the classroom where the gunman was. Eventually, a heavily-armored officer puts down a ballistic shield and it’s used as cover and a shooting rest.
