Police investigate a shooting that injured four people during an attempted robbery in southeast Houston.Four people were injured late Thursday when a customer pulled a gun and fired at men trying to rob a convenience store in southeast Houston, officials said.
Three attempted robbers and another customer were injured by gunfire, Houston Police Department Assistant Chief Ernest Garcia said. It wasn’t immediately clear if the customer was shot by the other customer or by one of the alleged robbers.Officers around 8:45 p.m. responded to a robbery near the intersection of the Interstate 610 loop and Broadway Street on the city’s southeast side, Garcia said.
A customer then pulled a gun and shot three of the four attempted robbers inside, Garcia said. Another customer was also struck. The four people then ran back to the car and sped off.Not long after that, four people went to a nearby hospital, three of them with gunshot wounds, Garcia said. One was in serious condition, while the other two were expected to survive.
