In celebrating the Supreme Court’s 303 Creative v. Elenis decision, Colorado-based 303 Creative owner and website designer Lorie Smith said “everyone should be free to speak consistent with who they are and what they believe.”

“From day one all I wanted is to speak consistent with my beliefs. And I want that for everyone. I want that for the LGBT website designer, the Democrat speechwriter, the Jewish calligrapher, the pro-life photographer,” Smith said. “Everyone should be free to speak consistent with who they are and what they believe.”

“And I’m grateful for the court for affirming that the government can’t force anyone to say something they don’t believe,” Smith added. “Today is truly a victory for each and every one of us.”In the 6-3 majority opinion, Justice Neil Gorsuch wrote,"The First Amendment prohibits Colorado from forcing the website designer to create expressive designs speaking messages with which the designer disagrees.

The court's Republican-appointed justices joined Gorsuch’s majority opinion, while liberal Justices Sonia Sotomayor, Elena Kagan, and Ketanji Brown Jackson dissented.
