Three Trinitarios gang members were arrested and charged Wednesday over the fatal shooting of 66-year-old innocent bystander Reda Girgis outside his son’s Upper Manhattan deli last month.
Kelwin Sanchez, 19, Raheam Steed, 22 and 23-year-old Jonadel Lakard were all charged with murder in connection to the May 23 drive-by shooting that claimed the life of Reda Girgis.According to sources, the trio of suspects are alleged members of the notorious Trinitarios gang OED.A group of teenagers who had been hanging outside the deli are seen scrambling for safety just moments before Girgis falls to the sidewalk — with his son’s wife frantically running into the store a split-second later.
Family friends had told The Post that Girgis’ daughter-in-law gave birth the day after she witnessed his death. Girgis’ son, Haney Girgis, was not in the store at the time of the shooting, deli manager Gamal Abouelezz has told The Post. Sanchez, Steed and Lakard — the suspects in the case — were also charged with assault and criminal possession of a weapon.
