come outfitted with an updated version of the old model’s 2.5-liter naturally-aspirated four-cylinder petrol engine. This engine is good for 135 kW and 245 Nm of torque and is coupled exclusively to a CVT. Customers can choose between front- or all-wheel drive.
Arguably of more importance is confirmation that the X-Trail’s e-POWER system will be available in Australia. While specifications for this powertrain haven’t been announced for the local market, we know that in European guise it features a 1.5-liter turbocharged petrol engine acting as a generator for the electric motor.
While Australian pricing for the 2023 X-Trail kicks off at A$36,750 with the 2.5-liter engine and tops out at AU$52,990 , Nissan has not yet announced pricing for the e-POWER version. What we do know is that deliveries of the X-Trail e-POWER will commence in early 2023 while the combustion-powered models will land in the hands of customers during the fourth quarter of this year.
