Factory off-road trucks come in all strengths and sizes and wear names that sound like discount pro wrestlers. Here's what we think of Ford's half-ton F-150 Tremor.

It's a mission the Tremor attacks with an uprated suspension; increased ground clearance; 33-inch tires; improved approach, breakover, and departure angles; a transfer case similar to the Raptor's; and a standard locking rear differential.The Tremor package is only available on a four-door SuperCrew with a 5.5-foot bed, with either a 5.0-liter naturally aspirated V-8 or a 3.5-liter twin-turbo V-6 mated to a 10-speed automatic. This is fine with us.
There's even a little sportiness to its street moves—some of the old, lowered Tremor's DNA, perhaps?—with the upgraded suspension delivering improved body control and a slightly firmer ride versus other F-150s. The ride is still reasonably supple, but you will notice more vibrations and jiggles in the cabin. The steering is light and accurate , and the Tremor tracks true on the freeway even on the squishy tread blocks of its 33-inch General Grabber A/TX tires.
All that, plus the goodness inherent to the F-150. That means an interior packed with convenient cubbies and a layout honed over generations of real use and customer feedback to place everything pretty much exactly where you need it.
The Tremor makes a great case for itself as among the very best F-150s you can buy; it's as adept at overcoming most any obstacle as it is tackling the daily grind. We're thinking the
