A man and a woman were arrested on suspicion of felony sales of illegal fireworks and child endangerment.

An investigation into the sale of illegal fireworks led Alhambra police to a home in Whittier on Tuesday, June 20, 2023, they said. Show CaptionAlhambra police seized more than two tons of illegal fireworks at a Whittier home earlier this week and also took into custody a man and a woman, authorities said on Friday, June 23.

The Whittier couple was arrested on suspicion of felony sales of illegal fireworks and child endangerment. There were five children ranging in age from 6 to 13 inside the house, Alhambra police Lt. John Lee said. He believes they are the suspects’ children. Police started the investigation online and found out someone was selling illegal fireworks, he said. Police did not say when the investigation started or release further details.
