2 dead, 1 injured in crash that shuts down south I-15 in North County [Breaking]
Two people died at the scene, Choi said. A third person sustained injuries of unknown severity.
Authorities shut down all southbound lanes of the freeway. Choi said drivers should expected “quite a traffic delay.”— Caltrans San Diego Emergency personnel initially requested a medical helicopter to evacuate a severely injured patient, Choi said. But that helicopter was called off a short time later, apparently after that victim died at the scene.
Witnesses told 911 dispatchers the crash involved a pickup, a Tesla and a sedan, according to a CHP incident log. At least one of the vehicles ended up overturned and on its roof.This is a breaking news story that will be updated as more information becomes available.
