2 more Auburn players join Jabari Smith, Walker Kessler as early entrants for 2022 NBA Draft
While Smith and Kessler are both projected first-round picks -- with Smith the potential No. 1 overall selection and Kessler currently projected as a mid-to-late pick in the first round -- Flanigan and Cardwell’s stock isn’t as high, and the two are likely going through the pre-draft process to receive evaluation from NBA teams and see what they need to improve upon in the next year.
Flanigan appeared in 22 games as a junior, making 20 starts at small forward for the SEC’s regular-season champions. He averaged 6.3 points on 39.5 percent shooting -- including just 20.5 percent from 3-point range -- while grabbing 3.5 rebounds and dishing out 1.3 assists per game. While Flanigan’s defensive effort was encouraging throughout the season, he struggled to find his rhythm on the offensive end and couldn’t regain the form from his sophomore campaign, when he averaged 14.
