Pair wounded in East Oakland shooting
Shortly after 6 p.m., police responded to reports of a possible shooting near the 3000 block of 64th Avenue at Camden Street in the city’s Frick neighborhood.
The teenager was pronounced dead at the scene, and the other victim was taken to a hospital and later listed in stable condition, authorities said. Other officers worked to block off traffic and control a crowd of family members and pedestrians along 64th at Camden Street and at Foothill Boulevard. “When you have a 16-year-old child that is gunned down in broad daylight … it is concerning, and it’s hurtful to this community. Obviously, emotions are high, the family is distraught,” Armstrong said in part. “This type of senseless violence has no business in our community.”
