A suspect was arrested Saturday night in the fatal shootings of his girlfriend and her 13-year-old daughter and the wounding of a 12-year-old girl in an East Oakland apartment.
OAKLAND — A 13-year-old girl and her 44-year-old mother were killed and a 12-year-old girl was wounded in a shooting Saturday night at an East Oakland apartment, and the woman’s boyfriend was arrested as the suspect, authorities said.
Authorities said the 44-year-old woman and the suspect had been in a relationship for more than a year. Authorities said they have a 1-year-old daughter together. The suspect then went to another part of the apartment where he allegedly fatally shot his girlfriend’s 13-year-old daughter. He also allegedly shot a 12-year-old girl in the leg who was able to flee the apartment and seek help. The 12-year-old was a friend of the 13-year-old girl and was spending the night at the apartment, authorities said. She was in stable condition.
