Brando is widely regarded as one of the world’s best actors, but his performance as Colonel Kurtz nearly derailed the entire movie. The entire movie builds up to his character’s confrontation, yet he was only on-screen for a short time and the editing of his climactic monologue is a bit destabilizing.
