Though it’s probably the most well-known movie review site on the internet, Rotten Tomatoes’ critics have been known to go against popular opinion.
Summary SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT Despite the fact that most people will have visited Rotten Tomatoes at least once in their life, it is not always right about movies. Following the advent of the internet, film reviewing and critic scores became a widely-accessible fixture of going to the movie theater or even watching a picture at home.
A Few Good Men Though its climax in the courtroom is undeniably memorable, Rob Reiner’s A Few Good Men is otherwise quite a by-the-numbers drama. Though Tom Cruise, Demi Moore, and Jack Nicholson all give good performances in the film, they are restricted by oversimplified themes, unoriginal characters, and an inaccurate portrayal of the courtroom processes. A Few Good Men does a good job of exploring the flaws within the U.S.
Sausage Party Despite having the dynamic writing team of Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg behind it, Sausage Party got most of its laughs from shock value. What could have been an interesting critique of religious dogma and social processes quickly devolved into a crude, unsubtle, badly-paced film, following anthropomorphic supermarket items who begin questioning their beliefs about the world beyond the store.
The Mummy Though the attempted 2017 re-franchisement of The Mummy film series didn't live up to expectations, its original installment from 1999, which starred Brendan Fraser and Rachel Weisz, remains a beloved action adventure. The film is a loose remake of the 1932 horror movie of the same name, and until Brendan Fraser’s Oscar-winning performance in The Whale, Rick O’Connell was one of his most defining roles.
