A bridge collapsed in Pittsburgh this morning, sending three people to hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries, officials say. Three or four vehicles were on the bridge at the time -- everyone in those cars has been extricated
Three or four vehicles were on the two-lane commuter bridge, which spans over a creek in Frick Park, when it collapsed Friday morning, Pittsburgh Fire Chief Darryl Jones said. Ten people suffered non-life-threatening injuries, and three were transported to nearby hospitals.
A Port Authority bus and a car that were on a bridge when it collapsed Friday Jan. 28, 2022, are visible in Pittsburgh's East End.First responders trying to help in the icy conditions were among the injured, Jones said. Responders rappelled down about 150 feet to reach the collapse site, as others formed the human chain, the Associated Press reported.
