Although a Grant Gustin cameo in The Flash might not have saved the movie, it would have certainly added more weight to the film’s multiverse story. There was not too much of a connection between Barry Allen and most of The Flash movie’s cameos, a problem that a Grant Gustin appearance would have fixed. Having a brief moment between the DCEU’s Barry Allen and the Arrowverse’s Barry Allen would have elevated the film and made The Flash into a celebration of the character’s legacy.
7 Henry Cavil's Superman From The DCEU While The Flash features CG recreations of Henry Cavill’s Superman scenes, the actor does not appear in the film. The Flash revisits Man of Steel and was expected to be a celebration of the DCEU ahead of the new DC Universe, which only makes Cavill’s absence from the film worse. More than a multiverse cameo, Henry Cavill’s Superman should have had a somewhat significant role in The Flash, perhaps something like Ben Affleck’s Batman scenes in the film.
4 John Wesley Shipp's Flash From The Flash TV Series In addition to a Grant Gustin Barry Allen cameo, The Flash movie could have celebrated the character’s legacy by featuring a John Wesley Shipp cameo. John Wesley Shipp played Barry Allen in the 1990’s The Flash series, a role he would reprise decades later in the Crisis on Infinite Earths crossover. In the Arrowverse, Shipp also got to play Henry Allen and Jay Garrick.
