One intriguing Star Wars concept regarding the Force would have only improved the sequel trilogy, along with one of its most divisive aspects.
One Force concept featured in the Star Wars universe could have vastly improved the sequel trilogy. Disney's sequel trilogy began production almost immediately after the conglomerate acquired Lucasfilm in 2012. The first film in the trilogy, Star Wars: The Force Awakens, received a largely positive reception from fans and critics, alike. The following two films, however, were much more divisive, having since fractured perception of the franchise's future.
What Is A Force Vergence In Star Wars? In Star Wars, Force vergences have been common across all mainstream Skywalker saga movies, albeit without the name being overly applied to certain elements. Firstly though, it is worth exploring what a Force vergence actually is. In Star Wars lore, a vergence is a naturally formed, yet highly unusual concentration of the Force. These concentrations can apply to places, objects, or perhaps most strangely, people.
The majority of other Force vergences in the Skywalker saga come in the form of places. The cave on Dagobah, in which Luke Skywalker sees his own face under Vader's mask in The Empire Strikes Back, is a Force vergence. Another example of a Force vergence that has seen visions through the mystical energy field be extremely strong is the mirror cave on Ahch-To, featured in Star Wars: The Last Jedi.
