The deadly crash happened in Newark, investigators said.

One person died in a Monday afternoon crash on the New Jersey Turnpike in Newark, New Jersey State Police Sgt. Philip Curry told NJ Advance Media.No other details, including the numbers of cars involved or whether or not anyone else was injured in the crash, were immediately released as the incident remained under investigation.
