One person and two horses died after police say a car crashed into a group of riders in southeast Oak Cliff on Tuesday morning.
About 5:30 a.m., officers were dispatched to the intersection of South Great Trinity Forest Way and Julius Schepps Freeway, where police said three horses and three juvenile riders were involved in the crash. One rider was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. Authorities did not release that person’s identity.One horse was also pronounced dead at the scene, while a second had to be euthanized by a veterinarian. The third horse was injured, according to police, but is expected to survive.
The horses appeared to be stolen, police said. It was unclear whether the surviving riders face charges.No additional information was immediately available.
