SPANISH FORK CANYON — One person died and several others were injured in a collision in Spanish Fork Canyon on Sunday, the Utah Highway Patrol said.
A Hyundai Elantra, a Toyota Venza and a Chevrolet Cruz were involved in the crash that happened on U.S. 6, according the highway patrol, forcing the closure of the highway in both directions. Details about how the crash happened and who died were not immediately available. The incident is under investigation, troopers said.
The closure of U.S. 6 is expected to last until about 6 p.m. Sunday, according to Spanish Fork police.Update: EB US-6 is closed at US-89 to Mapleton and WB US-6 is closed at US-89 to Thistle due to a crash on US-6 at MP 183, Diamond Fork area.
