Gunfire struck three people, one fatally, at an intersection in Bloomfield Sunday afternoon, the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office confirmed.
The Bloomfield police department said in online posts the incident appears to be an isolated, targeted shooting. The incident occurred at about 3 p.m. at the intersection of Bloomfield Avenue and 16th Street. No arrests or charges were reported by police or the prosecutor’s office.“This isn’t what Bloomfield is about.”
No further information was available Sunday night as the Essex prosecutor’s Homicide Task Force investigates, Chief Assistant Prosecutor Thomas S. Fennelly said. News release: The Bloomfield Police Department confirms that there were three people shot, one of which has succumbed to his wounds.
