Authorities say 1 person died after crashing into a concrete pump truck on the 4700 South on-ramp to I-215 in Taylorsville.

TAYLORSVILLE — One person has died Wednesday after crashing into a concrete pump truck on the 4700 South on-ramp to I-215 in Taylorsville.

Utah Highway Patrol officials said a concrete pump truck was disabled in traffic due to losing a tire at the on-ramp. Sgt. Cameron Roden said troopers were on scene directing traffic when an approaching GMC pickup truck slammed into the back of the pump truck. The man driving the pickup truck died at the scene. The driver in the stationary pump truck was uninjured.

The left two northbound lanes were open as of 3 p.m. Wednesday, but the rest of the area was expected to be closed for at least another hour, Roden said.
