The Marvel Cinematic Universe that started with 2008's Iron Man rages on, with Marvel Studios setting dates for two Avengers movies — The Kang Dynasty and Secret Wars — for 2026 and 2027, respectively, following the recent Marvel movie delays.
The 2019 movie achieved highs that the MCU should only be able to match when Avengers: Secret Wars uses the multiverse to close out Marvel Studios' new chapter. The latest movie for Earth's Mightiest Heroes did the best possible job to honor the original Avengers team — Captain America, Iron Man, Hulk, Thor, Black Widow, and Hawkeye — sending half of the characters off the MCU emotionally while the other half still has stories left to tell.

Steve Rogers' Happy Endgame Ending Would've Been Almost Impossible Without Peggy Chris Evans' Steve Rogers danced with Peggy Carter after having promised to do so back in 2011's Captain America: The First Avenger, bringing the character and the MCU, in a way, full circle. It would have made little sense for Steve to bow out of the MCU in any other way that differed from Cap finally getting his happy ending with Peggy in Avengers: Endgame.
